Born out of a sincere purpose, of unveiling Nepal’s unique and hidden treasures, Sarita Holidays is the brainchild of our visionary, Founder and Chairman, the late Shiv Prasad Phuyal.
From origination in 1979 as a humble tea shop in Kathmandu, where interactions with locals and foreigners laid the foundation for our ethos of hospitality and cultural exchange, to extending our reach across continents as a global tour operator at present;
We have come a long way in understanding and adapting to subtle changes in the preferences, attitudes and sensitives of evolving generations of travellers.

IATA
With it’s headquarter in Nepal. Sarita Holidays Was dealing with the National Carries and their systems; With a constant increase in the number of departures every year, Sarita Holidays became a member of the prestigious International Air Travel Association (IATA) in 2024 enabling direct contracting with Airlines and internal issuance of tickets for tours as well as for customers needing ticketing services. Sarita Holidays’ ticketing operations is based in Kathmandu and is headed by experienced professionals; two of the directors are the IATA certified members. The ticketing business of Sarita Holidays Private Limited has grown into a profit centre and has started catering to small corporate and sub-agents in Kathmandu.
VISA/PERMIT SERVICES
Visa/PERMIT is an indispensable part of any overseas travel. Visa/PERMIT services is also a specialised service needing a full understanding of all legal regulations and a dedicated team of professionals to handle the processing of the visas. From the starting of its operation Sarita holidays has been conducting tours to Tibet and Bhutan so the Visa/ Permit was handled very professionally and now with a growing number of guests travelling to various destinations, Sarita Holidays Private Limited is processing the paperwork in-house for visas/Permit to all destinations for its Guests as well as the public.
MICE
Sarita Holidays has the expertise and experience of catering to large group movements for events overseas and in destinations within the country. Sarita holidays is retained by multi-national brands. Sarita holidays MICE division has handled groups of numerous sizes ranging from 40 passengers to 1300 passengers and to destinations across the globe

SUNHIL SHARMA PHUYAL – Managing Director |
The third-generation Managing Director of Sarita Holidays Private Limited (since 2024), with over 15 years of profound experience in the tourism industry, Sunhil steps into his role armed with a degree in Travel and Tourism, and Master’s in Brand Management & Marketing from Limkokwing University of Fashion and Technology, Malaysia. His entrepreneurial thinking came to the fore quite early, when he earned accolades at age 12 for his writings on sustainability in Japan, and further recognition at age 13 for an innovative celestial sphere demonstration, which won him the Youngest Scientist Award. In a bid to propel Sarita Holidays towards new frontiers in the travel industry, he spearheads two transformative initiatives: ‘Nature, Culture, and Future‘ to endorse responsible and regenerative tourism, and ‘Humanity, Client Focus, and Community Engagement‘ to nurture authentic connections and positive impact, both of which underscore his tact of uniting cultures through enriching travel experiences. |
MADHU KUMAR PHUYAL – Director of Travel Coordination |
One of the key founders, former Managing Director and present DTC(Director of Travel Coordination), set foot into the Tourism and Hospitality industry at a young age of 17. With a background in hotel management and agriculture, Madhu’s ardent passion for travel and cultural exploration immensely helped in the establishment of Sarita Holidays. He revitalized the company during Nepal’s civil war (2001-2006), ensuring its survival and growth despite challenging circumstances. He oversaw expansion by marking a presence in the international domain, notably Japan, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Germany, Italy, Latin America, and India, where he achieved significant success. Always keen on exceeding customer expectations in service delivery, he advocates continuous improvement through hard work and dedicated practice. |

The former Managing Director (1994-2001), Balaram is the pillar of Sarita Holidays, who devoted his life and soul to Nepalese tourism. He led the company during a time predating widespread technology and advanced equipment, relying instead on hard work and extensive experience. Notably, he played a key role in Nepal Tourism Year 1998, by attracting a large number of Japanese tourists to Nepal. During his tenure, he enabled Germans and Americans access the Tibetan plateau through the routes of Dolpo, Manang, and Mustang. He even overcame challenges of accessibility to destinations like the Annapurnas and Tibet’s Kailash. Today, he supports the company with his advice, while enjoying retirement and engaging in agriculture. |

Sarita Sharma Phuyal Dynamic and versatile, with Master’s in Business Studies specialized in finance, and IATA certified as a Travel Tourism Consultant, Sarita has been the nucleus of the company since inception. Her professionalism spans valuable experiences gained at the National Cooperative Bank, World Without Anger (WWA) and in HR, refining her skills in recruitment, employee development, and organizational management; alongside making informed financial decisions, analysing market trends, and directing long-term plans aligned with the company’s objectives. Beyond, she is an avid painter who finds creative inspiration through her artwork. |
Laxman Sharma Phuyal A Master’s graduate in Hospitality & Tourism with a specialization in Destination Management & Development, Laxman, as a part of the third generation has played an indispensible role in building the present ticketing team. His wide experience comes from holding additional certifications including Trekking and Tour Guide training (NATTHM), stock market training, and IATA. A great adventurer; having explored major areas in Tibet, Bhutan, and Nepal, he has made worthy contributions to the development of destinations at a national level. |

Sarita Holidays Private Limited invests a significant amount of money and energy to build and market the Sarita brand. Brand building at Sarita has been closely about sales activities and has mostly been a support system for acquiring new business. Beginning with a 5-year media silence, Sarita Holidays Private Limited entered media advertising/Travel and Trade fairs, International Marketing Fairs in 2007 and has maintained consistent presence. All brand promotion spends have been from internal accruals and have been shown as expenses fully in the respective fiscal years. Sarita Holidays Private Limited’s brand promotion strategy has had the right mix of Above the Line (ATL) and Below the Line (BTL) presence. Sarita holidays Private Limited introduced its tag line “Comfortable Journey with complete Tour Satisfaction” in 2007 in all its campaigns and applied for a trademark registration for the line. This unique positioning has been well received by the public and has placed the company clearly in a space that had not been occupied by anyone. Sarita Holidays’ brand has always spoken directly to the consumer and this has given a leading edge in creating a particularly strong identity and association of trust.
With growing popularity and stature of the brand, Sarita Holidays changed its logo to a more appropriate logo that represents the company. The design change was handled by its long-time advertising agency Easy Design Solution and was backed by specific survey and research. In 2024, the new identity was revealed in the market. People have responded very well to the new logo.
