Mt. Kailash

Kailash and Mansarovar Holy Mt. Kailash is 6714 meter rock pyramid is the abode of the Gods & earthly manifestation of the "Pillar of the Universe", described in ancient texts around which all else revolves. In Sanskrit it is called "Mt. Meru or Sumeru Parvat", In Hindi Holy Mt. Kailash. For Tibetans it is "Kang Rinboche" means The Precious Jewel of the Snow. Hindu God Lord Shiva resides here with his consort, the Goddess Parvati.

Since Mt. Kailash became a mystical power in people's minds, has been symbol of relief from suffering to generation after generation of believers.

Mount Kailash is the final destination for many travelers to Tibet, ranging from tourists to Buddhist pilgrims and other followers of spiritual traditions from far and beyond. From the slopes of Mount Kailash flow four of the world's great rivers - the Indus, Brahmaputra, Karnali and Ganges; embodying its reputation as the 'heart of the world'. As the center of the physical & metaphysical universe, Mt. Meru (Kailash) is sacred to the Hindus, the Buddhists, the Jains, and the Bonpos. For the Hindus, the mountain represents the seat of Shiva. For the Buddhists, a terrestrial projection of the cosmic mandala of Dyani Buddhas & Boddhisatvas.. The Wheel of Life.

The road to the sacred mountain is long and at times arduous, but the breathtaking view of the snow-capped peak, as well as the uninterrupted view of the Himalayas and rural Tibetan villages are certain to make the journey an unforgettable one.

Mt. Kailash has long been an object of worship for four major religious. For Hindu, it is the domain of Shiva. It is also the abode of Samvara-a multiarmed, wrathful deity worshipped in the chakrasamvara Tantric cycle of Tibetan Buddhism. The Jains of India also revere the mountain as the site at which the first of their saints emancipated. And in the ancient Bon religion of Tibet, Kailash was the sacred nine storeys Swatika Mountain, upon which the Bonpo founder shenrab alighted from haven. The 53 km Kailash circuit is the holiest of all Hindu as well as Buddhist pilgrimages and the beacon, which draws most travelers to western Tibet. It is said that a single Parikrama erases the accumulated sins of a lifetime, while 108 cicurmbulation will achieve Salvation

Lake Mansarovar

Kailash and Mansarovar Just 26 Km. South of Mount Kailash, a holy lake called "Mansarovar" which enjoys the same reputation as the holy Mount Kailash. 4490 meter above sea level with about 412 square Kilometers area and about 70 meters deep Holy Lake Mansarovar is also called "Mother of the Worlds Rivers". The sacred lake is like a sapphire glittering with charming colors in the sunshine.

Water of Lake Mansarovar is so clear that fish 10 meters below surface can be seen. Beside the lake Mansarovar, the pretty shadow of Goddess, high up in the heaven, still lingers. Through its everlasting enchantment, washes away the sorrow of all mortal being through out the ages.

"When anyone touches the earth of Mansarovar or bathes therein, he shall go to the paradise of Bhrahma, and who drinks its holy water shall go to the heaven of the Lord Shiva and be released from the sins of a 100 births. Even the beast that bears the name of Mansarovar shall go to the paradise of Bhrahma."

Hindus believe that Holy Lake Mansarovar was created to show the omnipotence of Lord Bhrhma's mind, Manas. Tibetans call it "Mapham Tso", means the Unconquerable Water. This lake is most famous holiest lake in Asia.

Itinerary: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by Luxury Coach/Jeep - 14 Days

Kailash TourDay 01: Katmandu (1300 mts.) Arrival, our representative will meet at the airport and escort to the Hotel, Free at own and Evening dinner, overnight stay in Katmandu.
Day 02: Katmandu - After breakfast start to Katmandu sightseeing including Pashupatinath and Budha Nikanth Darshan, back to hotel and rest of the day is free for packing and program briefing.
Day 03: Katmandu to Nyalam (3700 mts. - 160kms.) - This is the first day of the Yatra. After breakfast depart from Katmandu to China border by reserved tourist coach. It takes about 05 hours. Our agent will complete custom formalities and check into Tibet - an autonomous part of China. After lunch drive to a small Tibetan town called Nyalam by Land Cruiser. Overnight stay at Nyalam Guest House. Breakfast and dinner in camp side and packed lunch will be provided.
Day 04: Nyalam Full day acclimatization - Full day free for excursion of Nyalam city.
Day 05: Nyalam to Dongba/ Paryang (4500mts. - 375kms) - After breakfast drive from Nylam to Dongba for about 08:00 hours. Overnight stay at Dongba in tent or guesthouse.
Day 06: Dongba/Paryang (4500mts. - 335kms) to Mansarovar - After breakfast drive from Dongba to Mansarovar 07:00 hours. This is the first day stay at the bank of the Manasarovar Lake Mt. above sea level. Pooja and hawan, this is the first day stay at the bank of the Manasarovar Lake, Overnight stay in tent or guesthouse.
Day 07: Mansarovar to Darchen (4600mts. - 110kms.) - Mansarovar Parikrama by Land Cruiser. We will choose the special point to take dip in Manasarovar Lake and do Pooja of Lord Shiva. Full day free for spiritual activities. Drive around 2.30 hrs to Darchen and overnight stay there. Astapad excursion can be done at extra cost.
Day 08: Darchen to Diraphuk (4890mts. - 12kms.) - This is the first day of Kailash Parikrama. We should start our journey after breakfast as early as possible. This day we have to walk continuously for about 6 to 7 hours. Yak will carry all our goods and equipment. Overnight stay at Diraphuk in tent.
Day 09: Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk (4790mts. - 22kms.) - This day is very sensitive and we have to pass Dolma-La Pass, which is 5400 pooja and hawan, The weather in unpredictable in Doma-la Pass and at any time snowstorm can fall. So we try to start our journey as early as possible. In route we can have Darshan of Gaurikund but it is very difficult to go and touch. Overnight stay in route to Zhulthulphuk in tent.
Day 10: Zhulthulphuk to Mansarovar - We will Trek down to Darchen, Drive to Mansarovar fill up spiritual jaal, later our tour starts back for Kathmandu following the same route and same system applies for all subjects of our accommodation and meal.
Day 11: Mansarovar to Dongba/Saga - Drive back to Dongba/Saga.
Day 12: Dongba/Saga to Nyalam - Drive back to Nyalam, which is the last stay in Tibet part.
Day 13: Nyalam to Katmandu - After custom formalities we will be picked up by Nepal side and continue drive to Kathmandu for about 05.00 hours and check into same hotel.
Day 14: Morning check out hotel, transfer to airport, catch flight for next Destination.
Options for early departure or you use your extra day for Himalayan mountain flight, Manakamana road trip, or Muktinath tour .

  • Sleeping bag, down Jacket, Gamow bag and Oxygen.
  • We don't charge extra for the parikrama. If you wish to take help of a yak or horse, the cost will be approx US$ 100 for Yak and USD 200 for horse payable directly to the yak herder. All Indian pilgrims are advised to hire one. You have to understand that the yaks are not domesticated but are meant to carry luggage.

  • All notice of cancellation must be sent to our office in written. Verbal cancellations will not be entertained.
  • 20 days before trip departure 10% of total trip cost.
  • 15 days before trip departure 50% of total trip cost.
  • 10 days before trip departure 90% of total trip cost.
  • 07 days and less departure 100% of total trip cost.
